The Rotaract Club of Calumpit is proud to announce the launch of its “Breaking Barriers” project, a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to promoting the rights and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This project aims to challenge societal stigma, advocate for equality, and foster an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

The “Breaking Barriers” project will focus on several key areas:

    1. Advocacy and Awareness: Through targeted campaigns and community engagement, we aim to raise awareness about the challenges faced by PWDs and the importance of inclusivity.
    2. Education and Empowerment: We will provide resources and opportunities for education, skills development, and employment to empower PWDs and help them achieve their full potential.
    3. Community Building: By creating supportive networks and fostering a sense of belonging, we will help PWDs connect with others, share experiences, and build a stronger, more inclusive community.
    4. Policy and Accessibility: We will work with policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for better accessibility and inclusive policies that support the rights and needs of PWDs.

“We believe that every individual, regardless of their abilities, deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling and empowered life,” said Daniel Balingit, president of Rotaract Club of Calumpit. “The ‘Breaking Barriers’ project is not just about addressing the physical and societal obstacles that PWDs face, but also about changing perceptions and creating a culture of acceptance and support.”

The official launch event for the “Breaking Barriers” project will take place on July 7, 2024, through a discussion streamed via the Rotaract Club of Calumpit’s Facebook page. This event will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive workshops designed to inspire and engage attendees. We invite community members, students, parents, and advocates to join us in celebrating this important initiative.
