Ludo Board Game Bar and Cafe

This establishment is not your ordinary bar and cafe because it offers board games for their customers to try.

Families, couples, and especially group of friends will have a great time in this place. While the concept of a board game cafe has been around for more than a decade in Europe, it has only recently spread to the rest of the world. As avid boardgamers, Aaron Tanco, Jay Mata, Chrissy Palma, Mark Fernandez, Carlos Sandico, and Mario Sandico decided to bring the concept to the Philippines so that they can have a place to call their own, and share the love of playing games to their customers. As for the board games, they don’t have a single supplier. They painstakingly find games from all over the world, find a supplier for that game and acquire it. Their most requested board games are: Cards Against Humanity, Dixit, The Resistance, Ticket to Ride, and Splendor. Not only do they cater to teenagers and adults, but they also offer kid-friendly games such as Spooky Stairs, Enchanted Tower, Chicken Cha Cha, Rhino Hero, and Animal Upon Animal. For additional fun, they also hold “Murder Mystery Parties” at regular intervals. For those interested, especially for kids, they offer private function packages available if you wish to close off the place exclusively for an event.

Type of kid: Competitive, smart and fun to play with

Kid-o-meter: Lots and lots of board games

Experience: While waiting for our food, we played River Dragons by Roberto Fraga. At the start of the game, you will be given cards with different actions on it. You will decide on how to arrange them strategic ally. However, there is a card that has a dragon on it-its effect is to disable the first card of your opponent. If you are spelled w ith this card, your game will already be a mess. The first player to reach the other end of the board by placing planks and stones to their path will be declared the winner. This is a good game for kids because they can practice strategic thinking in a fun way. The game looks easy to play but none of my companions won. It dawned upon us too late that the secret to winning this game is that no one should play the dragon card because it ruins everyone’s game.

After having worked up an appetite playing games, we ate Super Nacho Chips. This dish is the perfect accompaniment for playing boardgames because you can munch on it easily while your other hand is busy playing. The sauce is a bit tangy which helps keep your palate fresh, and comes in a serving size good for three people.

The next dish we tried was their Classic Carbonara. I am a fan of pastas so I can testify that this dish is delicious. You can really taste the mushroom in the cream sauce.

For my favorite part, dessert, we were served with Choco Chip Brownie ala Mode. The brownie arrives at the table warm, which was a great treat. The gooey texture of the brownie along with a large scoop of ice cream is a great way to cap off our meal.

Before leaving the premises, we tasted their Chocolate Milkshake. Chocolate lovers should try this milkshake because your cravings will be satisfied by this drink.
