Ahead of World Heart Day, LAC Philippines highlights the value of healthier habits, regular health checks, and greater awareness of cholesterol and circulation.
Heart health is often treated as something to worry about later in life, but cardiovascular risk can develop much earlier. In the Philippines, heart disease accounted for nearly one in five deaths nationwide in 2025, while hypertension affects about one in three Filipino adults, according to figures cited by LAC Philippines.
Ahead of World Heart Day on September 29, LAC Philippines is encouraging Filipinos to reconsider when heart care should begin. Everyday food choices, sedentary routines, stress, and insufficient rest can all influence cardiovascular wellness over time, making healthier lifestyle choices and regular health checks practical starting points for earlier heart care.
Looking beyond age
Cardiovascular health involves several factors, including blood flow and circulation, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood vessel health. Paying attention to these areas before symptoms appear can help people better understand their overall cardiovascular condition and make informed lifestyle choices.
Cholesterol is one area that deserves particular attention. It plays important roles in the body, including supporting hormone production and normal brain and nerve function, but elevated levels of certain types of cholesterol can contribute to plaque buildup in blood vessels and affect healthy blood flow.
Because high cholesterol does not always produce noticeable symptoms, regular screening can be an important part of preventive care. Healthy eating, regular physical activity, and professional medical guidance remain important components of managing cholesterol and supporting cardiovascular health.
Supporting circulation and cholesterol management
As part of its World Heart Day campaign, LAC Philippines is highlighting two dietary supplements designed to support different aspects of cardiovascular wellness: LAC Activated Heart Protect and LAC Activated Cholesterex.
LAC Activated Heart Protect contains 2,000FU of nattokinase together with lecithin and hawthorn. According to LAC, the formulation is intended to support healthy blood flow, circulation, cholesterol levels, and overall cardiovascular function. It is designed for adults aged 18 and above and is taken once daily as a dietary supplement.
LAC Activated Cholesterex takes a more targeted approach to cholesterol support. Its formulation combines red yeast rice, plant sterols, lecithin, policosanol, and beta-glucan, and is intended to support healthy cholesterol levels, blood vessel health, and circulation. The product is taken three capsules daily with food.
LAC states that the two products may be taken individually or together as part of a cardiovascular wellness routine. As with any supplement, however, they should not replace medical evaluation, prescribed treatment, regular screening, or established lifestyle measures for managing cardiovascular risk.
Start with the basics
For people who want to start thinking about heart health earlier, the more fundamental steps remain familiar: understand your current health status, stay physically active, eat well, get sufficient rest, manage stress, and undergo appropriate health checks.
Rather than waiting for age or symptoms to dictate when cardiovascular health should become a priority, LAC Philippines is using World Heart Day to reinforce the idea that heart care can begin much earlier and form part of everyday wellness.
