The 2014 National Drag Racing Championship is set to stage the fourth and final round of the Southern Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit This Saturday, May 24, 2014.
Jonathan Tiu has been dominant all season, but mechanical problems with his JCT-Blanche Nissan GT-R last May allowed Danes Sarmiento from H3 Rurex to take the win in Clark. Hopefully, Tiu will be able to return on form this Saturday to defend his title. Of course, there are also serious threats from Vannitec W-Autosports’ Allan Ararao, RSL Motorsports’ Manalo brothers, and fellow JCT-Blanche teammates Jayson Ong, Sheldon, Chua, and Rommel Dural.
The Southern Series finale is expected to draw an even larger crowd of drag racers who will fight for the titles in the Pro, Expert, Sportsman, Hotstreet, and Thunder Classes, with the eight fastest cars of the day slugging it out in the Quick 8.
The 2014 National Drag Racing Championship is sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), presented by Petronas and sponsored by M&H Tires with media partner Racing Beat @ Wave 89.1.
