    Volkswagen Philippines has announced the following product upgrades and introductions to its 2016 model line-up:

    Volkswagen Jetta

    Targeted at upwardly mobile professionals and young executives who require both power and comfort in their daily drives, the new Jetta sedan is now available in diesel and petrol automatic variants.

    The top-grade Comfortline variant features a 2.0L turbo common rail direct injection 4-cylinder diesel engine, mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission,  producing a maximum output of 140Ps@4200rpm, and maximum torque of 320Nm@1750 rpm. It is fitted with Queensland 17-inch alloy wheels.

    Riding on Navara 16-inch alloy wheels, the petrol Trendline variant has a 1.4L TSI engine matched to a 7-speed DSG transmission with 160Ps@5800rpm of power and maximum torque of 240Nm@ 1500-,500rpm.

    The new Jetta is also loaded with upgraded drive and safety features such as driver, passenger, side and head curtain airbags, electronic stabilisation program (ESP) with comfort brake assistant, antilock brake system (ABS), electronic differential lock and anti slip regulation, hill hold control, and cruise control.

    Comfort and entertainment features include front and rear armrests, rear air-conditioning vents, and Composition Color infotainment system with 5-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity.

    Notable exterior touches include front fog lamps as well as redesigned bumpers, headlights, and taillamps.

    The new Jetta 2.0 TDI DSG Comfortline is priced at PHP 1,498,000, while the 1.4 TSI DSG Trendline retails at PHP 1,378,000. These are available in pure white, deep black pearl, ruby red metallic, blue silk metallic, and platinum grey metallic (Comfortline only).

    Volkswagen Polo

    Young upwardly mobile managers will also appreciate the upgrades to the popular Polo subcompact sedan, which now comes with 15-inch Tosa alloy wheels, a new chrome radiator grille, halogen H7 headlights with turn signal lights and headlight-range adjustment, new front and rear bumpers, color-keyed exterior mirrors with turn signal, color-keyed door handles, new rear combination lamp design, and a remote trunk opening switch.

    The new Polo Sedan 1.5 TDI MT Trendline sells for PHP 860,000 and the 1.6 MPI AT Trendline for PHP 840,000. Available colors include candy white, flash red, reflex silver metallic, shadow blue metallic, and carbon steel grey.

    Meanwhile, families and executives will get more enjoyment from the compact SUV Tiguan 2.0 TDI AT Business Edition, highlighted by the Vienna leather seats with 12-way electric driver seat, safety-optimized front head restraints with longitudinal and height adjustment, and the RCD510 with color touchscreen audio head unit.

    The exterior is more stylish with the New York 18-inch alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlamps with headlamp washer and LED daytime running lights, dynamic headlight range adjustment with dynamic cornering lights, auto headlight activation with separate daytime running lights, and electronically adjustable, power folding heated exterior side mirrors with side turn lights.

    The Tiguan 2.0 TDI AT Business Edition goes for PHP 2,426,000, and is available in seven colors: pure white, deep black pearl, toffee brown metallic, silver leaf metallic, pepper grey metallic, venetian green pearl, and uranus grey.

    Other 2016 Models

    VW-Philippines chief operating adviser Klaus Schadewald also announced the following product developments in the pipeline for 2016: the Golf Comfortline and Highline variants; the R-Line of the Passat and Touareg; and the return of the original rugged version of the iconic Beetle, the Beetle Dune.
