Presented by the Philippine Parts Maker Association (PPMA), in cooperation with DTI-BOI, DOTr, MMPC, TMPC, and the Automotive Body Manufacturer’s Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ABMAP), the first ever Philippine Auto Parts Expo (PhilAPEX) saw success as over 30 auto parts manufacturing companies proudly showcased their local car products.
Echoing the theme “Gawang Pilipino, para sa Pilipino”, the expo was able to successfully showcase Filipino talent; present the CARS Program implementation; and provide an avenue for networking amongst automobile parts builders and vehicle manufacturers.
Led by the Philippines Philippine Parts Maker Association (PPMA), the expo also featured Mitsubishi Motors Philippines and (MMPC) Toyota Motors Philippines Corporation’s (TMPC) project updates under the CARS Program. Alongside the updates were discussions on the recently-announced PUV Modernization Program of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the official public launch of the Philippine National Standards 2126:2017 for new PUVs, consequently released by the DTI-Bureau of Philippine Standards.
Special government booths for DTI-BOI, DOTr and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) were also available in the event to answer questions PUV operators had regarding new PUV franchise regulations, new design and features of the new PUVs, financing, and many others.
Present in the event were DTI secretary Ramon Lopez, LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra III, PPMA president Ferdinand Raquelsantos, MMPC president Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, and TMPC president Satoru Suzuki. The event ran through October 12-13, 2017 at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC).
