The new Land Rover Defender is arriving in Asia this Friday, August 7, 2020.  To celebrate the occasion, Land Rover is producing a special 30-minute online program giving viewers an in-depth look into a vehicle that has the inner strength necessary to make great things happen.

The new Land Rover Defender looks tough and is tough but designed with purpose and engineered to excite. Iconic in name, shape and capability, Defender can be personalised to allow owners to make the most of their world.

Beside the peerless luxury and refinement of the Range Rover family and the highly capable and versatile Discovery SUVs, the New Defender completes the Land Rover dynasty.

Driven by a passion and respect for the original, New Defender delivers transformational breadth of capability. Advanced all-terrain technologies redefine adventure for the 21st century, remaining true to the pioneering spirit that has been a Land Rover hallmark for 71 years.

“There is a strong emotional attachment to Defender. It was the only vehicle that could cope with this region’s difficult conditions, which made it a unique proposition,” said Robin Colgan, managing director, Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific.

“We think of the Defender as part of our legacy, but it is also one owned by communities around the world. People in this region consider this vehicle very much part of their own history. They are custodians of the brand—and it will be the same for the New Defender too,” Colgan adds.

Singaporean adventurer Rozz will host the digital reveal, as viewers explore Land Rover’s history and how the Defender was reimagined and engineered for the digital generation.

A selection of unique interviews will give exclusive insight into the New Defender. Massimo Frascella, creative director, Land Rover Design, will explain how they designed a visually compelling vehicle for a world that has changed massively since the original was created.

Meanwhile Nick Rogers, executive director, product engineering, Land Rover, outlines how the New Defender is capable of talking to people fluently in more than 20 languages.

The New Defender will be introduced to guests across 12 countries: Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Brunei and Mongolia.

The online show airs on Land Rover Asia Pacific’s YouTube channel at 9:00 PM on 7 August. Watch the broadcast here.
