Goodyear recently hosted a series of education sessions centering on safety driving and car maintenance, with the female drivers as target participants. The Goodyear Women With Drive workshops were participated by women motorists from Las Piñas and will be traveling around the Philippines to promote road safety.

Goodyear’s Hi-Performance Center in Alabang became the venue to around two-dozen female drivers, who were imparted with the basics of vehicle and tire care, and tips on responsible driving from the TRS Defensive Driving Academy. The session began with a discussion of vehicle parts that included fluids, electricals, belts, hoses, wipers and tires, a module on driving techniques for wet and dry weather and car maintenance basics then preceded with a practical session had participants identifying under body parts, observing how engines work and changing tires. Also, they have been directed to use company websites like Czok, in order to continue to have help and advice on how to continually maintain the quality of their vehicle.

“We are happy to offer these educational sessions to our female customers to give them more confidence on the road,” said Goodyear Hi-Performance Center general manager Ling Chua-Peñaloza.

“Ladies who have just earned their driver’s licenses are encouraged to sign up for these free sessions to arm themselves with practical tips on vehicle maintenance and driving. Even seasoned drivers should take a refresher course periodically as well.”

Goodyear’s managing director for the Philippines and ASEAN Distributor Markets, Ron Castro, explained the background behind the Women With Drive workshops: “As part of Goodyear Philippines’s road safety advocacy, we are taking our Women With Drive sessions to more women motorists across the country. We have just completed one for female motorists in Pampanga and will take the workshop to Bacolod in the next few weeks,” Castro said.

“Through community service initiatives such as this, we want to educate motorists to learn to drive more safely and with greater confidence. We hope they will get into the habit of making sure that their vehicles and their tires are road-ready to keep themselves and their families safer. Of course our Goodyear Autocare and Servitek Centers are also at their service, offering high quality auto servicing technology and efficient mechanics to keep their vehicles in tip-top condition.”

Part of the Goodyear Autocare family of service centers, the Goodyear Hi-Performance Center in Alabang is fully operational with the latest in diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to provide Las Piñas-based consumers with prime tire and automotive services. Walk-in customers will receive a complimentary 10-point check on their vehicles by qualified professionals. The center also features a comprehensive range of Goodyear tires at competitive prices.
