MobilityHyundai unveils Class 3 modern jeepneys at Negoshow Oro Mobility Expo

The official Philippine distributor of Hyundai commercial vehicles, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), recently showcased its full lineup of modern jeepneys. The list includes the H-100 Class 1, the HD50S Class 2, and the debuting HD50S Class 3 at Negoshow Oro held at Hyundai Trucks and Buses (HTB) Calamba.

Among the first players of the national PUV Modernization Program (PUVMP) to complete its lineup of modern jeepneys, the brand has recorded orders of over 2,000 units from various transport groups across the country. At the two-day Negoshow Oro Mobility Expo, 16 more transport cooperatives signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Hyundai Trucks and Buses (HTB) Calamba. This adds 1,708 more units of the Modern Jeepney Class 2 and 570 units of the Modern Jeepney Class 3, for a total of 2,278 pre-ordered units.

HTB Calamba is under the umbrella of the Areza Group of Companies which celebrates its 30th year of operations this year.

Gracing the event were the Department of Transportation (DOTr) assistant secretary for road transport and infrastructure Atty. Mark Steven Pastor, along with Laguna governor Ramil Hernandez and Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. president and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo.

Asec. Pastor, who also graced the turnover of another batch of Hyundai modern jeepneys in General Santos earlier this year, reported that since the PUVMP was launched, there are now 562 PUVMP-authorized routes to be plied by 15,650 authorized units. Of the said units, 4,120 are operational. He also noted that 1,030 transport cooperatives that a total of 104,000 members are already accredited by the Office of the Transportation Cooperatives (OTC).

Pastor shared.

The Negoshow Oro ended its first day with a raffle draw where the proceeds of which were donated to the rescue and rehabilitation of Batangas’ displaced communities from the Taal Volcano eruption.

The brand envisions Hyundai trucks and buses to be at the forefront of moving and connecting people and resources across islands and regions, driving businesses forward regardless of size and scale. The Negoshow Oro came right at the heels of Hyundai’s back-to-back Passenger Car dealership launches in Angeles City, Pampanga, and Baguio City, making for a strong start for Hyundai commercial vehicles and private PC fronts.
