MobilityBMW is 2014 Philippine Luxury Vehicle King

The Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), BMW’s official Philippine importer and distributor, managed to sell 722 vehicles last 2014, leading the local luxury segment for 12 years in a row. It marks an 11 percent increase in sales year-over-year.

The BMW 3 Series Sedan was the brand’s and the industry’s premium segment top seller with more than 240 shipments. Likewise performing admirably were the BMW X3, X5, and X1.

ACC President Maricar Parco attributes BMW’s success to both their high-quality vehicles as well as programs that enhance customer experience from engagement to ownership. This includes the new Product Genius concept showcased at local dealerships to better deliver an intuitive product experience; and the BMW Xpo selling exhibition.

Last year’s showing has BMW optimistic for their 2015 outing. “We are aiming to cap the year with a double-digit growth by expanding our product range and amplifying our support for our dealer network in all three regions,” said Parco. To be launched sometime within this year are brand new nameplates including the 2 Series Active Tourer and the all-new BMW X6.

BMW’s next big national task will be servicing world leaders during this year’s Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. As the APEC’s official premium mobility partner, BMW will supply 200 cars to be deployed in nine cities across six regions.

“Through our participation in the APEC and other exciting initiatives, we hope to break through new markets, entice more Filipinos to experience sheer driving pleasure, and realize record sales in 2015,” added Parco.

    BMW recognized at world stage

BMW managed to bag multiple international awards this 2014, testament to the brand’s dedication to vehicle design, sustainability, sportiness, and innovation. The accolades include: “International Engine of the Year Award”, “World Green Car of the Year”, and “World Car Design of the Year”.

The BMW i8 hybrid sports car was also distinguished as the “Best New Vehicle” by trade journal Auto Zeitung and was also named “Car of the Year” by the British journal Top Gear.

Finally, the “Red Dot Design Award” was bestowed upon the BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 4 Series Coupé and Convertible, BMW i3, and BMW i8 in the category “Best of Best” in a competition held by the North Rhine-Westphalia Design Centre.
