Ford announces Ranger ‘Raptor’ variant

Ford Motor Company revealed last September 7 in Shanghai, China that its popular pickup, the Ford Ranger, will be getting an off-road performance variant: the Ford Ranger Raptor.

Bearing the same badge as the built-for-anything version of the legendary F-150 pickup truck, the Ford Ranger Raptor is designed to endure with a tough exterior and unmatched off-road performance in the mid-size pickup truck segment.

“We are very excited to bring Asia-Pacific’s toughest and smartest pickup truck to a whole new
level,” said Ford Asia Pacific Vice President for Product Development Trevor Worthington, “Ford
Ranger Raptor will offer Ranger fans a fantastic opportunity to own an authentic off-road performance version of their favorite truck for the first time.”

Building on the success of the best-selling pickup truck in a number of markets in the Asia-Pacific region, Ford brings the power and performance of the F-150 Raptor to the Ranger for the first time ever, advancing the globally-renowned Ford Performance DNA.
