Suzuki Philippines and Motorjoy Depot recently joined forces to help improve the facilities of Maria Cleta R. Delos Cientos National High School in Piape, Padada, Davao Del Sur.

Motorjoy Depot, Motortrade’s Mindanao arm, built two concrete buildings for the school: a 21.56 m2  faculty room for teachers and an 86.25 m2 three-classroom establishment for the students. Meanwhile, Suzuki, through its CSR wing Suzuki Philippines Foundation’s Suzuki Helps, Aids and Rebuilds (SHARE) program, helped furnish the classrooms with arm chairs, whiteboards, teacher’s tables and chairs, wall fans, computer sets, emergency lights, and bookshelves. They also provided them sets of sports equipment including basketball ring boards on the school’s open grounds.

The turnover ceremony for the donations was attended by the school’s benefactors from the private and public institutions, including Motorjoy Depot president Paulino Ongtenco and EVP Romeo Noro; Suzuki Philippines president Hiroshi Suzuki; Yamaha president Toru Osugi; Rotary Club of North Davao representative Bong Cristobal; Padada mayor Pedro Caminero, vice mayor Francisco Guerrero, Jr., and municipal councilors; School Board representative Carmelo De Los Sientos IV; and school head Dr. Elizabeth Solano.

Solano expressed her gratitude to the donors and wished them more blessings as they continue to give back to the community. In his speech, Suzuki thanked those who helped the endeavor and also urged the students to study hard to be part of the country’s development.

Suzuki also donated an AX4 motorcycle with a six-seater sidecar to the TODA of Piape in order to help the community with their transportation needs.
