Suzuki Philippines launched its all-new Super Carry utility commercial vehicle October 27 at the Mega Tent Events Venue in Quezon City.
The Super Carry runs on a 0.8-litre, two-cylinder, eight-valve DDis diesel engine that has been certified to meet the Euro 4 emmission requirements. It has a maximum power of 32 HP at 3500 RPM and a maximum torque of 75 Nm at 2000 RPM.
The suspension setup is a MacPherson Strut coil spring suspension for the front and a rigid axle with leaf spring for the rear. The brake system is a combination of a ventilated disc brake for the front and a leading and trailing drum with LSPV for the rear.
The rear has an area of 3.25 square meters and a maximum load capacity of 735 kilos.
The Super Carry is available in different functional variants including a utility van, an APV, a cargo van, and one with a jeepney body among other customized models.
According to Suzuki Philippines Automobile General Manager Shuzo Hoshikura, the company is targeting the small and medium enterprises which “comprise more than 90 percent of the overall (business) in the country.”
Suzuki hopes that the venture will contribute to the company’s local growth with the utility commercial vehicle segment reporting an 11 percent year-on-year growth in the Philippines, possibly contributing to Suzuki’s reported 38 percent growth last fiscal year.
