    Suzuki Philippines, together with various Raider clubs and enthusiasts set the new Guinness world record for the largest road safety lesson ever held last February 26 at the 2017 Raider Summit at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

    The official tally for the number of participants for the safety riding lesson numbered at 4,178 and was adjudicated by Guinness World Records representative Swapnil Dangarikar. Also bearing witness to the event were LTO director for Law Enforcement Service Francis Rey Almora, Motorsiklo Xclusibo anchor Edwin Go and InsideRACING editor-in-chief Al Camba.

    The lesson is in line with Suzuki’s dedication to promote road safety and responsible riding in the Philippines, continuously providing lectures and assistance to riders across the Philippines.

    “We have been creating history for the Philippines with our monumental wins at the Suzuki Asian Challenge. This time we would like to highlight our commitment to safety riding which is the core of our business. Setting the Philippines in world history books is one achievement that is an honor for Suzuki to host and a Guinness title for the largest road safety lesson is a testament to this,” said Suzuki Philippines president Hiroshi Suzuki.

    Now an annual celebration, the Raider Summit recorded over 6,100 visitors with more than 96 Raider clubs represented, showcasing their support for Raider motorcycles and the Suzuki brand.

    Apart from the safety lesson, riders and enthusiasts participated in various activities, including custom bike, Astig rider, biker babe, best rider couple and show me the moves contests. Several booth games, a raffle, and free motorcycle servicing and washing were also offered by Suzuki to its patrons.

    Guests were treated to performances by Kim Domingo and the event’s co-host Roxee B.

    Suzuki’s trade partners also set up booths within the convention area, where riders can purchase products from Gatorade, IRC, Manila Tactical, MotoActive, MotoWorld, NGK, NHK, PacSafe, Pepsi, Racing Boy, RK Racing Chain and Sprocket, Shield, Spyder and XSpeed apart from Suzuki Genuine Parts that were on offer.

    The Suzuki Raider continues to be the “Underbone King” with 2016 sales reaching 30,785 units, topping the underbone 150 cc motorcycle category from the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA).
