MobilityTeam Suzuki Pilipinas Bags Another Win in SAC Second Round

Coming from a back-to-back wins during the first round of the Suzuki Asian Challenge (SAC) in Malaysia, Team Suzuki Pilipinas continues the streak with another top podium finish at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand.

Racer April King Mascardo carried the country’s flag up the top podium just weeks after he finished first during the second race at Johor. The Malaysian circuit also bore witness to Cebuano Mario Borbon Jr. dominating the first race, earning him the top spot on the podium.

Mascardo managed to keep a strategic position throughout the race, just trailing behind the leader. He later secured the lead and kept it until the end.

The second race was not as smooth sailing as the first one, which saw Team Suzuki Pilipinas’ Mascardo and Eane Jay Sobretodo battling for the lead. Ahead of the pack during the fourth lap, Sobretodo collided with another racer, causing him to bow out of the race early. A fall from one rider affected six other racers including Mascardo and Borbon at the final lap of the race. However, even through the pile-up, Mascardo managed to finish and fifth, and Borbon finishing in 12th.

After the races, Team Suzuki Pilipinas looks well in the standings ahead of the next series of races in round three at Suzuka International Circuit in Japan from June 2 to 4. Mascardo is at the top spot of the standings, with Borbon in seventh and Sobretodo in 11th.
