Ford Philippines has recently invited the press to test the latest version of its sub-compact vehicle, the Ford EcoSport, in the province of Bataan. Attendees for the test drive also participated in various outdoor activities.
The new EcoSport sports a bolder look with refreshed interiors, upgraded engines, and new intelligent features. Its Titanium variant is now equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine paired with a new 6-speed automatic transmission and auto start-top technology that delivers excellent fuel economy. It produces maximum power at 125 PS and maximum torque at 170 NM, making it one of the most powerful mini-utility SUVs in the segment. As a high-end model of the EcoSport, the Titanium variant now includes a side and curtain airbags, an Auto HID headlamps and rain-sensing wipers, smart key-less ignition, an enhanced SYNC 3 system that allows drivers to take and make hands-free calls, play music, and listen to currently received text messages; an 8-inch LCD screen, and a power sunroof.
All variants come with a 1.5 L TiVCT engines that are mated with either the new 6-speed automatic transmission or the 5-speed manual transmission, a refreshed grille, hood, and headlamps; an edgier 17-inch alloy wheels, and more spacious cargo space that can handle up to 1,178 liters. Among its smart and safety features include a rear view camera with rear view parking assist, and airbags that help keep occupants safe in case of collision.
The new EcoSport is currently available in four variants– 1.0L Titanium AT (PHP 1, 168,000), 1.5L Trend AT (PHP 1,028,000), 1.5L Trend MT (PHP 968,000), and 1.5L Ambiente MT (PHP 918,000)–and comes in six bold colors of absolute black, inglot silver, ruby red,canyon ridge, crystal, white, and blue lightning.
