    UPMG inducts officers and board Of directors, recognizes top advertisers

    The United Print & Multimedia Group Philippines (UPMG), a progressive organization of print media and publication companies, held its 1st General Membership meeting for year last March 26, 2025 at the Centennial Hall of the Manila Hotel to officially welcome the new UPMG Officers & Board of Directors and at the same time award the Top Advertisers & Ad Agencies for year 2024.

    CBF extends exclusive integrity partnership with Sportradar  

    The Brazilian Football  Confederation (CBF) and Sportradar Integrity & Regulatory Services, a unit of Sportradar AG, announce the extension of their long-standing partnership, set to begin with  the 2025 season. The new agreement aims to enhance efforts to combat match-fixing in  Brazilian football and safeguard the integrity of the sport. 

    Sportradar, through its industry-leading Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), will deliver integrity monitoring for more than 8,200 men’s and women’s matches organized annually by the CBF. Through this renewed partnership, the UFDS will now cover all Brazilian national championships. 

    The renewal of the partnership comes at an important time in the fight against match-fixing. According to the Integrity in Action 2024 Global Analysis & Trends published by Sportradar in early 2025, the number of matches suspected of being manipulated worldwide fell by 17% in  2024. Notably, in 2024, Brazil experienced a significant decline in the number of suspicious soccer matches, with 53 fewer cases detected—a decrease of 48%—compared to the previous year. 

    CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues notes, “Strengthening the integrity of Brazilian football is a priority for this administration, and the renewal of this partnership further reinforces our commitment to this mission. The work of the CBF’s Integrity Unit, in collaboration with Sportradar, will complement monitoring by FIFA and result in more than 10,000 Brazilian football matches being covered this season. It’s an impressive and symbolic milestone that makes us very proud.     Canon Marketing PH kicks off CSR efforts with coastal cleanup in partnership with ASSIST

    Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. launched its 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a coastal cleanup drive at Baseco Beach in Tondo, Manila. The activity was held in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST).

    The event brought together around 50 employee-volunteers from Canon in a united effort to champion environmental protection and promote sustainable practices. Participants collected plastic waste and other debris along the shoreline, contributing to the restoration of the coastal ecosystem while raising public awareness about ocean conservation and responsible waste management.

    Berde Renewables and Holcim PH strengthen partnership with major renewable energy  projects

    Berde Renewables Inc., a distributed renewable energy portfolio company of I Squared Capital based in the Philippines, has announced the expansion of its partnership with Holcim Philippines. Building on the success of last year’s solar rooftop projects, the two companies are now taking their collaboration to the next level. Together, they will work to increase the renewable energy capacity at Holcim’s facilities in  Davao City and Lugait, Misamis Oriental, further enhancing their sustainability efforts.

    Through the expanded partnership, Berde Renewables will take on the design, construction, and management of additional solar facilities at new Holcim sites, increasing the combined capacity to 12.79  megawatt-peak (MWp). These installations are expected to generate approximately 21,263-megawatt hours of clean energy annually, which will help reduce carbon emissions by approximately 14,000 metric tons per year. This project supports Holcim’s ambitious goal of reducing Scope 2 emissions by 65 percent by 2030.
