Trend Micro Inc. strengthens its commitment to enhance Filipino talent through the establishment of a new solutions center in the Philippines.
The state-of-the-art center offers Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service in Manila, providing round-the-clock detection of cyber attacks across four sources: endpoint, networks, email, servers, and cloud workloads. The facility utilizes Trend Micro’s MDR service, the Managed XDR, which employs extensive sets of data from a greater pool of protection points giving faster, accurate, and better insights. It provides organizations broader visibility over threats, alleviating the pain of the skills gap due to the scarcity of security experts.
Due to its complexity, Managed XDR is exclusively carried out by a dedicated team with advanced security expertise and skills in investigating sophisticated threats. Around Trend Micro PH’s 1,000 local engineers are now assigned to the Managed XDR service.
“Trend Micro Managed XDR is global, servicing customers in key regions. We invested in our Philippine office to be among our headquarters for Security Operations Center (SOC) as it is backed by 20 years’ worth of expertise in cybersecurity. This is also Trend Micro’s new growth engine in our services and operations, and we believe that it will usher a new era and new generation of IT workforce, both locally and internationally,” said Max Cheng, Chief Information Officer, Trend Micro.
Aside from recognizing the world-class Filipino talent in the area of cybersecurity, Trend Micro also wants to develop more experts in the field through its certified professional programs.
Recommended for security analysts, system administrators, cyber threat investigators, threat hunters, and security monitoring specialists, the Trend Micro Certification Program is a 5-day course that focuses on fundamentals of Security Operations Center (SOC). It will be offered at the Trend Micro Philippines headquarters in Pasig City.
“Trend Micro will equip IT professionals from across the country with real-world experience in detecting and managing threats. The goal is to empower more Filipino professionals with the knowledge and skills to face evolving cybersecurity issues and develop into global cyber guardians” Cheng shared.
