Signify Philippines gathered business leaders, sustainability advocates, customers, channel partners, specification professionals, and members of the media for Innovation Day 2026, a thought leadership event that explored how circular economy principles can help organizations address sustainability goals while creating long-term business value.

Held in Bonifacio Global City, the event focused on the growing role of circularity in helping organizations respond to increasing sustainability expectations, regulatory requirements, and resource constraints. Throughout the day, Signify highlighted how businesses can reduce waste, optimize resources, extend asset lifecycles, and improve operational efficiency through circular economy practices.

Circularity as a Business Strategy

The event centered on Signify’s circularity framework, Use Less. Use Longer. Use Again., which guides the company’s approach to sustainable innovation.

Through this framework, Signify demonstrated how organizations can integrate circularity throughout the product lifecycle, from design and manufacturing to installation, maintenance, upgrades, and end-of-life management.

Attendees also explored broader sustainability trends, including the growing adoption of Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), increasing attention on Scope 3 emissions reporting, and the demand for solutions that deliver both environmental and business benefits.

According to Signify, circularity is increasingly becoming not only an environmental responsibility but also a competitive advantage that can improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and strengthen long-term resilience.

AI and the Future of Lighting

The day opened with an executive breakfast session titled “The Future of Lighting: Accelerating Circularity and Asset Performance with AI.”

Senior executives and decision-makers discussed how artificial intelligence, connected lighting systems, and data-driven technologies can improve building performance, optimize asset utilization, and support sustainability objectives while extending the lifespan of lighting infrastructure.

The main plenary session introduced the company’s Signify Circle approach, which is designed to help organizations maximize the value of lighting investments while reducing environmental impact.

The framework is built around three principles:

  • Use Less by reducing energy consumption, minimizing material use, and increasing the use of recycled and sustainable materials.
  • Use Longer by extending product lifecycles through durable design, repairability, modularity, and upgradeability.
  • Use Again by supporting refurbishment, reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling to keep materials in circulation.

Attendees also explored circular-ready lighting products, upgrade kits, spare parts programs, and service-based business models that support these objectives.

The event concluded with “Lighting that Connects,” a session for architects, engineers, consultants, designers, and other specification professionals that examined how connected lighting systems are evolving beyond illumination to support smart buildings, improve energy performance, and generate actionable operational insights.
