    Maya, the country’s no. 1 digital bank, and leading integrated telco network PLDT Inc. (PLDT), are leading the charge in championing the government’s push for greater financial services adoption as proud co-presenters of the pioneering “Cashless Expo 2023”. 

    Organized by Go Digital Pilipinas (GDP), the groundbreaking Cashless Expo 2023 scheduled from November 17 to 19 at the prestigious World Trade Center is set to showcase an array of digital financial services, payment solutions, and contactless innovations tailored for consumers and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). 

    The event is organized in collaboration with key government bodies such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Department of Tourism (DoT), and the Department of Agriculture (DA).

    “Connectivity and innovation are at the heart of the country’s digitalization ambitions, and we at PLDT always welcome opportunities to support and work hand-in-hand with our partners in the government and the private sector to accelerate digital adoption in the country. Our goal is to facilitate greater participation in e-commerce among Filipinos, ensuring that everyone moves towards progress together,” said Al Panlilio, PLDT president and CEO and chairperson at Maya Bank.

    Present at the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony between the DTI and Go Digital were DTI officials led by Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual and Assistant Secretary Jean Pacheco; GDP officials led by its Chairman of the Board Carlos Gatmaitan and Mishy Co, GDP Executive Director and member of the PSAC-Digital Infrastructure sector; PLDT Enterprise Vice President and Head of Business Development and Industry Consulting Ding Villarino; representatives from Maya led by Martin Mauhay, Head of P2M and Acceptance Business, Pete Cruz, Head of Enterprise, and Spencer Romano, Associate Director – Enterprise; and CSJ Events Management President Catherine Jalandoni.

    “We are excited to be at the forefront of the nation’s inaugural cashless expo.  As the Philippines’ most comprehensive financial services ecosystem, our goal is to catalyze the widespread adoption of digital transactions among consumers and enterprises, including our MSMEs. In the process, we aim to enable more advanced digital banking services like savings and credit,” said Shailesh Baidwan, president of the Maya Group and co-founder of Maya Bank.

    “With this expo, we aim to realize our vision of increasing digital adoption among merchants, promoting cashless transactions among consumers, and showcasing Filipino-made products at the forefront,” said PLDT Enterprise vice president and head of business development and industry consulting Ding Villarino, who represents PLDT at the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) to spearhead Digitalization initiatives. Villarino attended the recent signing ceremonies with DTI and GDP executives led by Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual.

    “Cashless Expo — Bagong Pilipinas, Cashless Payments Na!”, a three-day trade show that will feature Philippine-made goods and services bought and sold via digital payments-only transactions, will also introduce cutting-edge solutions and innovative approaches to cashless payments. 

    GDP is a non-profit organization that seeks to uplift the lives of the Filipino People through the adoption of digital services.
