Keeping the house clean is no child’s play. It is an endless work. Regardless of vigorous organization, everything will fall back into a state of messiness and dust will keep turning up no matter how hard you wipe and scrub. In situations like this, we can only rely on tools that make the job easier. And among the trusted in this space is Dyson. The brand sent over to us their newest cleaning device, the Cyclone V10 Absolute, and we were more than happy to take it for a spin.

    Design: 4.5/5

If you’re familiar with Dyson, you’ll know the design of their products is anything but ordinary. The Cyclone V10 is no exception. Its chassis is mostly polycarbonate. Some of the Cyclone V10’s internal components can even be seen through the shell for a striking visual effect when in use.

The layout of this new V-series cordless vacuum is still akin to a pistol. It is horizontal in orientation with the bin further front and the cyclone on the back—a new design said to better the device’s air-flow. The Cyclone V10’s bin is slightly bigger than previous V-series models, which makes the device longer overall. A soft-touch trigger is built within the handle, while a mode toggle, battery indicator, and a lever for emptying the bin can be found at convenient spots on the device.

    Hardware: 5/5

The Dyson Cyclone V10 is an engineering marvel. It is powered by the brand’s very own innovative digital motor, the new V10 engine which spins up to a whopping 125,000 rpm. This works with a newly-designed fan impeller, Dyson air-multiplier technology, and 14 cyclones concentrically arranged around the machine’s central axis to efficiently and powerfully capture large debris and fine particles as miniscule as 0.3 microns, in effect also cleaning the air around you.

Giving power to it is a non-removable lithium-ion battery with seven nickel cobalt-aluminum cells allowing it a runtime of up to 60 minutes, much longer than other V-series vacuum. A full charge will take up to 3.5 hours and there’s no need for you to check on it every now and then as it is now built with an LED battery indicator. LED indicators also signal the user in the event of a blockage or a dirty filter.

It comes with motorized cleaning heads and several other attachments for your specific cleaning needs. The easy to maneuver Torque drive cleaner floorhead comes with a brush bar and nylon bristles perfect for picking up dirt on hard floors, as well as carpet. The same goes for its soft roller cleaner head. Meanwhile, the Mini Motorised tool is perfect for deep cleaning areas with limited space and upholstery with added power from its own motor. Also in the package are differently-sized dusting brushes and nozzles for various surfaces and hard-to-reach nooks and crannies.

If you don’t have enough muscle power for using it handheld all the way, the Cyclone V10 comes with a metal extension tub, making cleaning from floor to ceiling easy.

    User Experience: 4.5/5

Its design and technologies might appear complex, but in use, the V10 Absolute is pretty easy to operate. Choose a cleaning tool to attach and as soon as you hear it click, you are good to go.

The Cyclone V10 has three suction modes: suction mode 1, suction mode 2, and max. On the lowest suction mode, the Cyclone V10 still masterfully takes away dirt and can last you over an hour of cleaning. The second mode, which is more powerful, will give you a runtime half of the first mode. Meanwhile, max mode, gets it to spin at incredible 125,000 rpm to pick up dirt, fine particles, and pet and human hair. In this mode, you get at least ten minutes of fade-free runtime.

Emptying the bin is also easy. Just point its cleaning-tool-free nose to a trash bag, hold on to the lever and slide the bin forward. Its flap will automatically open and release captured debris. The Cyclone V10 also comes with a wall dock for hassle-free charging and stowing.

    Value: 4/5

There’s a lot to be excited about the new Dyson Cyclone V10. It is a cordless, powerful, and reliable cleaning tool perfect for any home. With its amazing features and solid engineering, it does come with a steep price tag, but justifiable for everything it can do.

    Bottomline:

The Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute is the ultimate cleaning tool.
