Will the Logitech C922 Pro HD Stream Webcam make me look better on-screen? Video is now where all the action is, and after over a year spent in front of my PC camera, I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to something that would make me look better due to a higher resolution — much like having a virtual makeover. Let’s see if Logitech’s C922 Pro HD Stream Webcam would grant me my wish.

    Design: 4/5

The C922 Pro HD Stream Webcam is not the latest Logitech webcam model, so it looks a bit dated for the 2020s. It is basically a plastic rectangle with the camera lens in the middle. On either side are LED activity lights and stereo microphones. Markings consist of the words “HD 1080p” to the left of the lens and “logi” to the right. This main body sits atop a hinged integrated stand that can be easily and securely attached to a laptop screen or desktop monitor. There’s also tripod thread at the base which, with the included mini tripod, lets you position the C922 at different angles.

    Hardware: 4/5

The C922 Pro HD Stream Webcam has an autofocus HD camera lens that lets you record Full HD video (1080p) at 60fps or HD video (720p) at 30fps. It has two microphones for capturing sound from different directions. When the webcam is in use, the LED activity lights turn on. It comes with a 1.5m cable terminating in a USB-A connector.

    User Experience: 4/5

Out of the box, the C922 Pro HD stream Webcam is a plug-and-play affair and is good to go once connected to your laptop or PC. Those who intend to use it for recording or livestreaming videos can download the accompanying Logitech Capture app, which gives you additional video content creation options like recording from 2 cameras, recording in 9:16 format (perfect for Instagram), studio controls, text overlays, etc.

One of the best features of the C922 is its automatic low-light adjustment, so you don’t need ring lights and such for good video quality. In fact, I was able to do a zoom video chat in a totally dark room with just the monitor screen as the light source and my video still came across clear and well-lit.

The stereo microphones also do a good job capturing realistic, natural-sounding audio. However, if you’re recording narration or voice-over, a separate condenser mic would still be the better option.

    Value: 4/5

On the Logitech official store in Lazada, the C922 is listed at PHP 5,827, reflecting a 10% discount off the PHP 6,490 SRP. I’ve seen it offered at below PHP 4,000 by some online sellers. For me, though, the value of Logitech products is not just about price. It’s about the entire ecosystem that the brand has created, with its Logitech G Hub where you can optimize and configure your Logitech G devices. Targeted mainly for gamers who want to stream the action, the C922 is an affordable, good-quality webcam.
