    Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) shared its robust holiday season sales record for the PlayStation 4 and its roster of video game titles.

    The company sold more than 5.9 million consoles over the 2017 holiday season for a total of 73.6 million units in cumulative sales globally as of December 31, 2017.

    To boot, SIE was able to sell more than 55.9 million copies of its video game line-up during the season including physical copies through retail stores and digital copies via the PlayStation Store. Since the PlayStation 4’s launch, SIE has sold roughly 645 million copies as of December 31, 2017.

    “PlayStation Network continues to demonstrate spectacular growth, with the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers surpassing 31.5 million, and [PlayStation] Store recording its largest-ever monthly contents sales in December 2017.
