    Sony held a media lunch at Fairmont Hotel in Makati to preview and give a hands-on demo of upcoming games set to be released this year for Playstations 3, 4 and Vita.

    Among the games showcased was the much awaited Watch Dogs set to be released on May 27 for both the PS3 and the PS4. The Playstation releases of the game will include exclusive content: four extra missions which amount to an extra 60 minutes of gameplay, extra perks and a white hat hacker costume.

    Sony also previewed a short clip of The Last of Us: Remastered for the PS4 which will be rendered in 1080p at 60fps, with higher resolution character models, and improved lighting and level of detail.

    The game’s multiplayer will be cross-platform which will allow players to play with each other regardless if they own a PS3 or a PS4 version of the game. There will also be three DLCs worth US$30 which includes a new episode entitled “Left Behind,” 2 map packs, bonus weapons plus other new content.

    Other games previewed and announced for this year are:

    • Driveclub, a racing game which features highly detailed car models and promises to be a more social racing game. It will be released on October 7 for the PS4.
    • Bethesda’s Wolfenstein: The New Order which sees the return of William “B.J.” Blazkowicz, of the Wolfenstein series, fighting in an alternate reality 1960 in which the Third Reich has won World War  II. It will be available this May for the PS4.
    • Murdered: Soul Suspect, an action-adventure game which follows the story of Detective Ronan O’Connor who seeks to solve his own murder post-mortem. Its release for the PS4 is on June 6.
    • Drakengard 3 the latest installment to the Drakengard series and the first to be released for the PS3 after an 8-year gap from Drakengard 2 for the PS2. It will be released on May 21.
    • MLB 14: The Show (Asian English Version) for the PS4 released today, May 6.
    • BLAZBLUE CHRONOPHANTASMA (Localized Version) in June for the Vita.
    • Mind Zero (English Version) on May 27.

    Software updates and new features

    Teoh Wah Keong, Marketing Manager of Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong, also featured the software updates for the PS4 and Vita TV, including the SHAREfactory app and the Remote Play for the Vita TV.

    SHAREfactory is a new video-editing app which allows users to , trim, edit, and add transitions and custom soundtracks to videos to be shared online.

    The Remote Play for the Vita TV lets gamers play with the PS4 even if the console is placed in a different location, so they can play anywhere in the house with a TV that’s connected to a Vita TV.

    Wah Keong said that this event would be one of many to showcase what Sony Computer Entertainment has in store for Playstation users.
