The four-model lineup introduces the first REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, Xiaomi’s biggest smartphone battery yet, tougher water and drop protection, and up to six years of security updates.
Xiaomi has launched the REDMI Note 17 Series in the Philippines, introducing four models built around longer battery life, improved durability, refreshed design, and longer-term software support.
The lineup includes the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, REDMI Note 17 5G, and REDMI Note 17. The launch also marks a milestone for the series, which has surpassed 500 million shipments worldwideaccording to Xiaomi internal data.
Titan Durability across the lineup
Xiaomi is positioning durability as one of the biggest upgrades this generation.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G and REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G are the first models in the lineup to receive TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Durability Certification, covering drop resistance, water resistance, and battery performance. The REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17 receive TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification.
The two Pro models carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings and have passed a 2-meter, 72-hour water-resistance test under the specified laboratory conditions. They also introduce Underwater Mode, while SGS-certified drop testing covers falls from up to three meters onto granite surfaces. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 adds another layer of protection against everyday drops and scratches.
Batteries get significantly larger
The biggest battery sits inside the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G.
It uses a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 16% silicon content, paired with 100W HyperCharge and up to 27W reverse charging. Xiaomi rates the device for up to three days of use on a charge and says a 20-minute charge can provide enough power for a full day under its test conditions.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G gets an 8,340mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge, while the REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17 each come with 7,700mAh batteries and 45W charging.
Across the series, Xiaomi says the batteries can retain at least 80% of their original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which it equates to around six years of typical use.
Longer software support
The REDMI Note 17 Series also extends its ownership window through longer update commitments.
Xiaomi lists up to six years of security updates across the lineup, while selected models also get up to six years of battery-health support. The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G adds what Xiaomi calls a six-year like-new software experience, based on internal aging tests.
These long-term claims are central to the series’ “Built for Years” positioning, pairing hardware durability with extended software and battery support.
New design and brighter displays
The series adopts a refreshed look with redesigned camera modules, flat displays, rounded corners, and dual-finish rear panels.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G introduces Cloud Blush, a photochromic finish that shifts from white to a warm pink-orange tone under UV light. The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G gets finishes including Satin Orange and Sky Blue.
The Pro models use 6.83-inch displays with 1.5K resolution and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, while the REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17 use larger 6.99-inch screens.
On the Pro models, touch response can reach a 3,200Hz instantaneous sampling rate in Game Turbo mode.
Performance and AI tools
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform and supports up to 24GB RAM through memory extension on supported configurations.
The Pro Max also gets Xiaomi HyperAI, while the entire series supports Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google. These tools are intended to add AI-assisted productivity, search, and creative functions across the lineup.
Cameras focus on portraits and content creation
The series also brings upgraded photo and video features.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G places greater emphasis on portrait photography, while all four models support dual-video recording. The Pro Max can also capture 4K video at 30fps, and both Pro models include Professional Video mode and Live Moment functionality.
AI-assisted editing features include AI Erase Pro, AI Beautify, AI Image Enhancement, and AI Glare Removal on the Pro models.
Philippine pricing and variants
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is available in Cloud Blush, Purple, and Black, with early-bird pricing of PHP28,999 for 8GB+256GB, PHP30,999 for the Shopee-exclusive 12GB+256GB, and PHP32,999 for 16GB+512GB.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G starts at PHP20,999 for 6GB+128GB, with 6GB+256GB at PHP22,999 and 8GB+256GB at PHP23,999.
The REDMI Note 17 5G starts at PHP15,999 for 6GB+128GB, while the 6GB+256GB and 8GB+256GB versions are priced at PHP17,999 and PHP18,999, respectively.
The REDMI Note 17 starts at PHP13,999 for 4GB+128GB, with a Shopee-exclusive 6GB+128GB version at PHP14,999 and the 6GB+256GB variant at PHP16,999.
These prices apply during the September 15 to October 1, 2026 early-bird period. Buyers during the promo can also receive either a REDMI Watch 6 Active or REDMI Buds 8 Lite, depending on the model and offer mechanics.
Additional benefits include trial access to Google One, YouTube Premium, and Spotify Premium, subject to eligibility and market availability.
