    Motor heads, car aficionados, and automotive enthusiasts will be joining forces with the country’s top automobile companies during the 5th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) to be held on September 18 to 21 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), the country’s biggest auto industry organization, the 5th PIMS will be the biggest motoring convergence the archipelago has ever seen.

    Carrying the theme “Progress in Motion”, the PIMS serves as a platform to recognize the achievements and successes of the local motoring scene. It combines a unique motoring experience, fun-filled activities, and jaw-dropping launches and announcements from the top car companies of the country.

    In anticipation of the 5th PIMS, CAMPI hosted a festive evening where they thanked and appreciated their partners, associated groups, staff, and stakeholders for their continued support. Some of the auto launches to take place during the PIMS were also announced during the program.

    There will be 17 participating brands in this year’s biggest motoring show, namely: BAIC, BMW, Daewoo, Honda, Isuzu, JEEP, JMC, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Suzuki, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

    BAIC is a new player in the local automotive market. They will be unveiling their best machines including the A1 Sedan, A1 Hatchback, A5 Senova, MZ40, and X424.

    BMW’s X family, including the third iteration BMW X3, will be put on display for the public’s viewing pleasure. There’s also news that a brand new and premium mid-size segment vehicle addition to the BMW X family will be exhibited during the event.

    Daewoo is seeking to woo commuters and roadtrippers as they’ll present their Bus Concept for Public Transportation, and Leisure/Travel and Special vehicles.

    Kia will be introducing new color options for their Picanto nameplate and a two-toned variant forthe Kia Soul. They will also unveil Team Kia as a sign of their commitment towards the country’s basketball scene.

    Honda’s newest and most compact nameplates, the Brio hatchback and Brio Amaze sedan, will be revealed to the public during the PIMS.

    Off-road specialist JEEP will be demoing their Grand Cherokee Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and the all-new Cherokee Trailhawk.

    Lexus will be throwing their hat into the country’s luxury compact crossover segment with their NX model. Conceptualized as a “Premium Urban Sports Gear”, it’s designed to be edgy and emotional to appeal to urban and on-the-go drivers.

    Mazda will have the MX-5’s 25th Anniversary Edition on display, while Mercedes-Benz will exhibit their New Generation Compact Cars including the A-Class, B-Class, and the first public reveal of the new CLA-Class.

    Mitsubishi will discuss their latest tech innovations as they present their green concept cars, the GR HEV and CA MIEV. They’ll also be previewing their Pajero Dakar Rally Car, 2015 Pajero, and the all-new Outlander.

    Nissan will be launching their newest X-Trail, as well as exhibit the Almera, Sylphy, Altima, and the Patrol Super Safari.

    Suzuki will be displaying the newly launched Swift 1.2 and the Ertiga seven-seater Life Utility Vehicle, along with some of their big bikes.

    Toyota’s Fun-vii (vehicle, interactive, internet), a three-seater electric concept car modelled after our beloved smartphones, will entertain and excite motorists. Visitors should expect a customizable exterior with a giant LED screen.

    Volkswagen will be displaying their most iconic nameplate, the Beetle, along with the Jetta Sport Edition.

    Finally, Isuzu, JMC, and Peugeot will be exhibiting their latest designs and technologies to go along with exclusive offers.

    Besides the surefire excitement to be brought by the automobile industry’s best offerings, the 5th PIMS will also immerse visitors in mobility’s history with their “Progress in Motion” Exhibit. 12 iconic vehicles from the past up to the present will be on display across the World Trade Center’s main lobby to give the oldies nostalgia, and the young ‘uns appreciation for the industry’s milestones.

    For the modding and do-it-yourself folks, the PIMS will be hosting their first ever After-Sales Exhibit that will display the latest vehicle upgrades, repair services, and quality genuine parts for most vehicles.

    CAMPI will be hosting Automotive Seminars and Workshops during the event. The organization’s advocacies such as road safety, environmental protection, and consumer rights as well as fuel-saving tips, anti-carjack measures, and a tried-and-tested guide for vehicle registration and driver’s license application will be discussed.

    Associated groups of the participating automobile companies will hold Card Club Meets during the 5th PIMS. Besides fostering the camaraderie between members, the get-together will be a visual treat for attendees as they can view the most gorgeous and stunning vehicles-turned-art.

    If chairs are the saving grace of dads shopping with their family, the PIMS will have a host of fun activities that will entertain the family while dad strolls along the exhibit. Included are Pedal Go-Karts and Motoring-Inspired Games, Treasure Hunts, Scale-Model Displays, and an Automotive Designer’s Photo Exhibit.
