    AMD is showcasing their latest wares for the pleasure of those attending the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The company’s booth includes setups powered by their latest AMD Accelerated Processing Unit (APU), Radeon Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), and various embedded designs.

    “AMD is contributing to the excitement of CES 2015 with new graphics and computing technology that powers breakthrough consumer and commercial computing experiences of today and tomorrow,” said John Byrne, senior vice president and general manager, Computing and Graphics business group, AMD. “This year, we continue to see inspiring developments in virtual reality, Ultra high Definition 4K resolution computing and beyond, computing form factor and intuitive user interface innovation. AMD is thrilled to power the best of these with new generations of our smart, innovative, and efficient technology.”

    Some of the highlights include:

    • AMD’s first performance-focused system-on-a-chip (SoC) Mobile APU codenamed “Carrizo”. It supports the next-generation APIs including DirectX 12, OpenCL 2.0, and the upcoming Windows 10 OS.
    • Rigs featuring Radeon R9 graphics and AMD Eyefinity technology, Apple iMac with 5K Retina display paired with R9 graphics, and the newest Alienware 15 notebooks with 4K screens paired with Radeon R9 M295X graphics are on hand to spotlight 4K gaming.
    • New computing features such as AMD Face Login, AMD Gesture Control, accelerated applications, video management, and home theatre experience can be checked out on the available Lenovo IdeaPad Z50 laptop powered by the AMD A10-7300 APU with AMD RadeonR6 graphics; HP EliteBook 725 G2 powered by the AMD A10 PRO-7350B APU with AMD RadeonR6 graphics; HP Envy TouchSmart powered by AMD FX-7500 APU with AMD Radeon R7 graphics; and the ZOTAC ZBOX PA330 pico Series powered by the AMD A4 Micro-6400T APU.
    • Displays from BenQ, LG Electronics, Nixeusm, Samsung, and ViewSonic with support for AMD’s FreeSync technology. It allows dynamic refresh rates synchronized to the frame rate of AMD Radeon GPUs and APUs.
    • AMD SoCs are embedded on various technologies, including QNAP’s TVS-x63 Network Attached Storage (NAS); Gizmo 2, an open source development board for programmers and DIYers; BioDigitalPC, a x86 PC the size of a credit card; and ThinLabs All-In-One POE Thin Client.
