Composed of 50 special interest magazines in Europe focusing on photography, video, and audio, the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) held their 31st EISA Awards to recognize products that were released in Europe within 2012-2013 and were deemed the ideal representative of their product category.

This year, Canon bagged the coveted titles in four categories, namely: Advanced SLR Camera, Compact Camera, Camcorder, and Photo Printer.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III earned the title as the European Advanced SLR Camera for 2012-2013. Meanwhile, the EOS LEGRIA HF M52 (locally known as the VIXIA HF M50) was crowned as the European Camcorder 2012-2013.

The PowerShot G1 X won the European Compact Camera 2012-2013 award. The 14.3-megapixel compact digital camera was noted by the jury as having image quality “at a level that can compete with many DSLRs”, which is, according to them, “quite amazing for a camera with such a compact body.”

The Canon PIXMA PRO-1, now known as the European Photo Printer 2012-2013, was dubbed by the EISA jury panel as “the perfect choice for making long-lasting prints of outstanding quality.” They described it as “full of modern technology” and noted that it delivers “excellent quality with relatively low running costs.”

In total, Canon has won 56 EISA awards in the span of 27 years, including 24 consecutive years in which the company received accolades.
