Ford Philippines recently announced that last month was their all-time best August, with sales growing 18 percent year-over-year for a total retail number of 1,967 units.
The record August was spearheaded by the Ranger nameplate which likewise recorded an all-time best monthly performance in the country. The Ecosport, Fiesta, and Everest models also saw continued customer demands.
“Customer response to our full lineup of global Ford vehicles continues to be extraordinary across the country. Our ongoing product-led transformation and focus on delivering the very best customer experience is helping drive record sales,” explained Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines.
The Ranger pickup grew 150 percent year-over-year for 807 sales. Year-to-date, the model grew 71 percent over the same period last year, with a strong figure of 4,740 across all the Ranger variants.
“The Ranger is really the benchmark among pickup trucks in the market in terms of versatility, performance, capability, fuel efficiency and comfort, which is helping drive extraordinary demand this year,” explained Hart.
The EcoSport compact SUV posted 517 unit shipments last August, bringing its total sales number since its launch to 2,681. “The all-new EcoSport’s combination of sporty design, an array of smart technologies and sensible value proposition sets a completely new standard in the market,” said Hart.
The 1.0L EcoBoost engine-equipped Fiesta saw its sales increase 76 percent year-over-year last August, tallying 197 shipments. The nameplate’s ability to match the performance and power of regular 1.6L engines while doling out improve fuel mileage of up to 20 percent was the driving reason behind its popularity.
Ford’s SUVs also saw good August performances. The Ford Everest SUV recorded a year-over-year increase of 72 percent for 287 sales, with year-to-date shipments numbering at 2,190 units – a 27 percent increase over the same period last 2013.
Similarly, Ford’s premium mid-size SUV, the Explorer, garnered 102 unit shipments, having a year-to-date performance up 17 percent for 780 sales.
Overall, Ford has posted a year-to-date increase of 50 percent, with sales rising upwards to 12,554 units.
“From the new Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost, to the all-new EcoSport, and each new Ranger variant we add to our Ford showroom, our product-led transformation continues to build momentum with each new global Ford vehicle that we introduce,” Hart explained.
Not satisfied with their performance, Ford will be opening its new Baguio facility this coming October 2 to further boost its reach. This store will add to the 34 dealerships operating in strategic locations around the archipelago.
