    All-New Ford EcoSport

Ford Philippines recently divulged that they had their all-time best performing September this year, with sales soaring 63 percent year-over-year for 2,010 units. Along with their record September was their best quarterly performance in the country, with sales from July to September growing 71 percent for 5,700 total sales.

Besides strong performances from the whole lineup, these numbers were once more lead by the all-new Ford EcoSport. According to Ford Philippines Managing Director Kay Hart, “Our product-led transformation and expanding Ford showroom in the Philippines is giving customers even more ways to connect with the Ford brand and our segment-leading vehicles. The EcoSport is a great addition to our lineup, and nameplates like Ranger, Explorer, Everest and Fiesta are continuing to do very well this year.”

The EcoSport compact urban SUV sold 699 vehicles last September, with year-to-date sales since its April launch tallying to 3,380 units.

“The compact EcoSport is a right-sized vehicle that was developed with the market’s traffic and road conditions in mind. Combine this with its practical smart features like SYNC and Hill Launch Assist, and a very attractive price point, and it’s really creating its own space in the market,” explained Hart.

Ford’s Ranger pickup saw a 75 percent growth over the same period last year amounting to 767 shipments. For this year’s third quarter, the Ranger performed a solid 84 percent better year-over-year for 2,224 sales.

“We’re continuing to see strong sales across the full Ranger lineup, both automatic and manual transmissions, and across the country, helping to underscore the versatility of this unmatched pickup truck,” said Hart.

The Everest family SUV ended September with 249 unit sales, with year-to-date purchases increasing 21 percent to 2,439 units.

Ford’s premium SUV, the Explorer, saw sales blooming 66 percent over last year’s September, with 78 units sold. Year-to-date shipments for the nameplate rose 17 percent to 858 vehicles.

Finally, the Ford Fiesta finished the quarter with demand amounting to 479 units. It’s available in two variants: one sporting Ford’s global 1.5L TiVCT engine, and one fitted with the powerful 1.0L EcoBoost engine. The latter sports a performance equal to a 1.6L petrol engine but with much better fuel economy and less harmful emissions.

Ford will be opening new dealerships in the Alabang and Zamboanga area within the year to further bolster their market reach. This follows the inauguration of their Ford Baguio branch opened just last week.

“Our rapidly growing dealer network in the Philippines underscores our commitment to provide an unmatched customer and ownership experience,” ended Hart.
