Ford Philippines today announced this year’s second quarter to be an all-time best, led by a record 1,697 units sold for the month of June, an increase of 36% year-over-year.
Exceptional June sales were instrumental to a record-best Philippine second quarter performance at 5,172 units, 45% higher than the same period last year. Currently, Ford is enjoying its best-ever mid-year performance in the country, selling 8,864 units year-to-date which is a 42% improvement compared to last year.
“Our outstanding second-quarter numbers indicate that we are well on track with our plans of delivering the right Ford vehicle to match our customers’ lifestyles,” said Kay Hart, managing director of Ford Philippines.
The figures above were headed by the Ranger, Everest, and EcoSport models, with the Ranger and Everest garnering their all-time high June sales.
The Ranger pick-up sold 597 units last June with 3,283 units already sold for the year. Three new variants of the Ford Ranger were recently introduced to allow customers to choose the vehicle fitting their needs and wants. The Everest SUV had a 42% increase in sales year-over-year last month, selling 272 units for June and 1,645 year-to-date.
Meanwhile, the all-new sought-after EcoSport, currently on its third month of deliveries, saw 482 sales in June with 1,641 sales in the year so far.
“The all-new EcoSport is proving highly popular with consumers who admire its quality design, superior fuel economy and practical smart features like SYNC and Hill Launch Assist, all at an attractive price point,” explained Hart.
Following this remarkable mid-year outcome, Ford continues its dealership expansion with the opening of its Alabang branch, with branches in Zamboanga and Baguio set to open next month. These will bring the total number of Ford dealers in the country to 35 – 2 shy of meeting their goal of having 37 branches by the end of the year.
“Our rapidly growing dealer network in the Philippines validates and supports our commitment to our loyal customers, and through our expansion plan we hope and expect to reach out to even more Filipinos, especially in the provinces,” said Hart.
