Google recently updated its Terms of Service, and have changes that will go live on November 11, 2013.
The biggest change on its Terms of Service would be how Google uses your content in their services.
Your profile name, photo, and other content you post in your Google Account like reviews, and +1’s may now appear alongside adverts. Users shouldn’t be worried though because if you’re uncomfortable with the idea of your data being used for such purposes, Google gives you the option to change your settings so your name and photo does not appear in an ad.
This is a good move for Google considering Facebook recently recieved flak in a similar story where they used user’s content in advertisements via ‘Sponsored Stories’. Google also assures its users that “you’re in control of what you share.”
Other changes in the Terms of Service include a reminder to use your mobile devices safely, and a few details on the importance of keeping your password confidential.
