While there’s a lot of smartphone brands out in the market today, it’s undeniable that the two top contenders in the market are Apple and Samsung. Both have their top tier device in the market out now, and it seems that Apple’s iPhone 5 has overtaken Samsung’s top tier device in terms of web usage in the US. Research Firm Chitika has measured web stats stemming from mobile ad impressions on both devices, and it seems that there’s a lot more web traffic coming from Apple’s iPhone 5 compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S III spanning a 7-day time frame from October 3rd through October 9th, 2012. It’s not surprising given the high demand for Apple’s latest device, though it’ll be interesting to see what the usage statistics are in the rest of the world.
