Lotus F1 Team Business Development Head Martin Reiss said earlier in a press conference for the Manila Speed Show that Filipinos should see Marlon Stockinger as a pioneer who will be able to help generate a greater following for Formula 1 in the Philippines, as well as usher in more Formula 1 events and activities in the country.

With Stockinger’s continuing success in the field of racing, Reiss and the rest of the Lotus F1 Team are optimistic that the 22-year-old Pinoy-Swiss racer might be able to push for the popularity of Formula 1 in the country, if given ample support from the Filipino community, as well as the Philippine government.

The Manila Speed Show will take place tomorrow, May 4th, until Sunday, May 5th. During the opening, Stockinger will sit behind the wheel of a Lotus Formula 1 car in a much-anticipated demonstration. The starting line will be at the Quirino Grandstand. The F1 car demo by Stockinger will conclude the following day at the SM Mall of Asia grounds.

It has also been announced that President Benigno Aquino III has been invited to grace the Manila Speed Show.
