Samsung Philippines officially announced the local suggested retail prices (SRPs) of the four newest smartphones in its mid-range Galaxy line-up, touted as the Smart Choice Series.
Leading the pack is the Galaxy Grand, Samsung’s 5-inch dual-SIM smartphone, which is available at a local SRP of PHP 16,990. The Galaxy Grand features Android Jelly Bean as its OS, runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Its dual-SIM function works in an “always on” manner, which means that both SIM cards are on standby to receive calls and SMS.
The Android Jelly Bean-powered Galaxy Win, meanwhile, costs PHP 14,990. Aside from a quad-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz that enables speedy performance, the Galaxy Win features a 4.7-inch WVGA TFT display and a 5-megapixel rear camera. Like the Galaxy Grand, the Galaxy Win also supports the simultaneous use of two SIM cards.
The Galaxy Core, Samsung’s 4.3-inch dual-SIM smartphone that runs on a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, retails at PHP 11,990. Like the two above-mentioned devices, the Galaxy Core is also dual-SIM.
Retailing at PHP 7,990 is the Galaxy S Duos, which runs on a 1GHz processor and Android Ice Cream Sandwich, features a 4-inch WVGA screen, has a 5.0-megapixel rear camera, and is also dual-SIM.
According to Samsung Philippines, the Smart Choice Series is a collection of budget-friendly smartphones for consumers who want to avail of Samsung’s finest mid-range features without spending more than they have to.
Said Samsung Mobile Business Unit Director Eric Sulit, “We at Samsung are always on the lookout to bring technology on [sic] the hands of as many Filipinos as possible, and these Samsung large-screen, dual-SIM smartphones are our way of making that vision happen.”
