The push for the availability of LTE to the Filipino mobile community is now further intensified with the introduction of the first prepaid LTE service in the country, courtesy of Smart. Now, even those who are reluctant to subscribe to a postpaid plan can enjoy a connection speed of up to 42Mbps using Smart’s LTE service.
PHP 350 gets you a Smart LTE prepaid SIM that’s available in both dual-cut and Nano-SIM format.
The SIM is available bundled with the Smart LTE Plug It for PHP 5,995 and LTE Pocket WiFi for PHP 6,995. Both devices are backward compatible and can still be used even without LTE.
The SIM-only offer and the bundles are all pre-loaded with an LTE 299 package which is good for 7 days of unlimited use.
Once the pre-loaded package has been consumed, you can then avail of one of Smart’s prepaid unlimited LTE packages. As low as PHP 50 gets you one day of unlimited LTE when you text LTE 50 to 2200. The LTE 299 package gets you 7 days of unlimited use, while LTE 995 gives you 30 days of use.
Smart claims that they will start selling the LTE prepaid SIM on Sunday.
