Philippine smart devices brand Starmobile has launched its latest flagship model, the KNIGHT Spectra. It is powered by an octa-core chipset with 3GB of RAM, features LTE connectivity, and boasts the first dual rear camera for a local brand.

Touted as its most advanced cameraphone, Starmobile’s KNIGHT Spectra’s unique dual rear sensors are complemented by its built-in Star Cam functionality to enhance picture quality and give users more creative freedom. The two cameras work in tandem to deliver excellent photos. The 2MP sensor gathers information such as light, exposure, and distance. so the 13MP sensor can take brilliant photos more quickly and accurately.

Starmobile’s proprietary Star Cam function offers the user the following options: Super ReFocus, to choose the focal point of a shot after taking the photo; Chroma Flash takes two rapid shots—one with flash and one without—and combines them into a single photo with the right exposure; and Opti Zoom that enhances the texture and sharpness of zoomed in images.

The KNIGHT Spectra also has built in digital TV so you can watch crystal clear TV wherever DTV services are available. The free service also allows for real-time recording so you can watch your favorite shows at your convenience.

The KNIGHT Spectra will be available by the end of November 2015, and will retail at PHP 14,990.

    New Starmobile COO

Starmobile has also announced the appointment of a new Chief Operating Officer, Jerry Manus, who brings international experience to the local startup. His most recent role at Apple was to pioneer and establish the official presence of iOS in Indochina, leading the company’s dominance in the market. Before that, he was the country manager of Nokia Cambodia and Laos, sustaining the Finnish brand’s market leadership. He also headed the distribution and retail operations of Nokia Philippines.

“To say that we are excited to have Mr. Manus join Starmobile is an understatement,” said Starmobile Philippine president Ulysses Lao. “With his proficiency, he will be able to lead Starmobile to a bigger and brighter future.”

For his part, Manus notes: “I am more than thrilled to be part of a homegrown brand. This will be a great opportunity for Starmobile to further prove that a Filipino company can stand toe-to-toe with the best in the world.”
