    Starmobile officially opened its Metro Manila flagship concept store located at the 4th level of the SM North EDSA Annex. At the grand opening, the Starmobile team showcased 11 of the latest devices in its portfolio of tablets and phones.

    DiamondLeading the pack of freshly unveiled devices is the Diamond Series, which includes the Diamond V3 and V7. The Diamond V3 boasts of a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor packed into a 5.3-inch slate. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, hosts 4GB of internal memory and is dual-SIM and dual-standby. It also has two cameras, with the one on the rear having a 12-megapixel backside-illuminated (BSI) sensor. The Diamond V7 is a slightly bigger phone at 5.7 inches. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, packs a 1.2GHz quad-core chip, hosts 4GB internal memory, is dual-SIM and dual-standby, and has a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels (HD). Its rear camera uses an 18-megapixel BSI sensor. Both the Diamond V3 and V7 are protected by scratch-resistant Dragontrail glass. The Starmobile Diamond V3 and the Starmobile Diamond V7 will be available in mid-June and mid-July, respectively.

    The other smartphones that were unveiled were the Knight, whose HD display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass; FeatureSmart Mini, which comes with over 100 free popular games; Jump, a dual-core Jelly Bean smartphone; and Icon, a quad-core smartphone with a quarter-high definition (QHD) IPS touchscreen.

    Engage 7Starmobile also showcased its line of tablets, including the super-affordable Engage 7, which gives users a 7-inch Android ICS-powered tablet for only PHP 3,990. The Engage 7 has two additional variants. The Engage 7TV, which features what Starmobile calls “ALL TV access,” enables users to watch television from three sources: analog, digital, or streaming via Wi-Fi. The Engage 7 3G, meanwhile, features 3G capabilities for voice, SMS and data services. It also supports four different GSM frequency bands, so that it can be used anywhere in the world where GSM service is available. The Engage 7TV and 7 3G are available for PHP 5,290 and PHP 7,490, respectively.

    Engage 8The company also introduced the Engage 8—the only 8-inch tablet from a local brand. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, packs a 1.5GHz Dual Core processor, has 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM (expandable via microSD to up to 32GB), and is capable of TV streaming. The capacitive multi-touch display is protected by Asahi scratch-resistant glass.
