Last November 14, 2015, TOMS Philippines held its annual holiday event called The Give Fair at the Westgate Center in Alabang Muntinlupa City. This is a festive event where like-minded individuals and organizations that give back come together in celebration of the season of joy and giving through a fun-filled day of activities for all. A way of thanking their customers and supporters of the TOMS movement, the TOMS Give Fair provides guests with a host of different interactive, creative and inspiring ways to engage with the concept of giving.
Guests were welcomed with food booths full of different snacks for all ages, life-sized games like the Giant Tic-Tac-Toe and Pop the Balloon, craft activities like Color Your Cookie (and eat it too!), toy making and Style Your TOMS.
Competitive guests with certain games skill-set joined the Giant Jenga and Pick-up Sticks Competition but guests of all ages really got down to business during the TOMS Bingo and Raffle for a chance to win exciting prizes like TOMS hoodies, caps, shoes, bags, eyewear and gift cards. All these under the influence of the musical performances from like Clara Benin, Keiko Necessario and Riza Cabrera.
The Give Fair was centered on getting the community together with one goal. The concept is TOMS Workshop and the goal was to make 300 DIY toys for some of the sponsored children of Children International, one of TOMS shoe giving partner. As if it’s Santa’s Workshop, volunteers from Kids for Kids, Celebrity Mom, guests, TOMS employees, friends and family sat together and made toys as early as 3:00 pm on the day of the Give Fair, and well beyond November 14 to ensure the toys are ready for the day of distribution on November 25 which was aligned with TOMS shoe distribution in Children International Quezon City Center.
Present during the event are representatives from Children International, Tukod Foundation, Kids for Kids and Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan who spoke about Celebrity Mom’s advocacy for mothers.
The brand known to give all year-round with its One for One movement where every product purchased helps a person in need, — a shoe for a shoe to a child in need, an eyewear for restored eyesight to a person in need, a bag for safe birth to a mother and baby in need— the TOMS Give Fair is just another way to celebrate giving and making toys is a new way of helping others give, not with money, but with some time and effort.
