LD Productions Inc. and Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. would like to cancel the Hyundai Lateral Drift Championship Round 4 at Mega tent Libis Tom Saturday and moved event the next day Sunday September 21 in the same venue.
Schedule September 21: 9am drivers briefing amateur 930am to 11am practice for amateur 11am to 12pm qualifying 12pm to 1230pm drivers introduction 1230pm to 2pm tandem finals 230pm to 3pm pro drivers briefing 3pm to 430pm practice 430pm to 530pm qualifying 530pm to 6pm drivers introduction 6pm to 730 tandems pro finals 8pm to 830pm awardings of amateur and pro drifters.Catch more sideways driving action in the fourth Leg of the Hyundai Lateral Drift series set to take place on Saturday, September 20, at the Megatent in Libis.
With half of the championship series in the books, here’s how the drivers are shaping up against each other. In the Amateur Division, Kar Montaner sits at first place with 292 points; Peter Scroth at second with 280 points; Adrian Jonsay is third with his 266 points; Dan Javier is a bit behind, with his 207 points good enough for fourth; John Lazaga is in fifth with his 200 markers; Alex Nunez is sixth with 195 points; and Peter Seo’s 174 has him grounded in seventh.
For the Pro Division, Gio Rodriguez is intent on claiming back-to-back championships with his 234 points cementing him in first; John Raphel Boban is hot on his heels with 224 points; Alex N. Perez’s 207 points place him at third; Ralph Tan is at fourth with 200 points; Boodie Dabasol is in fifth with 192; Radrich Albano sits at sixth with 183 points; and David Murphy Feliciano and Audel Sison is tied at seventh with 176 markers each.
Originally slated to take place in the Tarlac Recreational Park racetrack, the fourth leg’s location was changed to allow the Tarlac track to be fully finished and operational.
Now billed for the Libis Megatent, the fourth round of the 2014 championship series will again see 30 Filipino drifters burning some serious rubber for places in the final podium. Lucky guests will also have the opportunity to ride shotgun in a 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe piloted by Japanese judges Hiromi Kajikuma and Kimihiro Obata.
The event’s admission and parking is free, with gates set to open at 9:00 AM.
