It seems as though Marissa Mayer and company are on a roll with the changes. The new Mail design, the Tumblr acquisition, the Flickr revamp, the new homepage, the pulling of the plug on 12 of its services—there’s no telling what else Yahoo! is up to these days. In fact, today, chief marketing officer Kathy Savitt revealed via the Yahoo! blog that the company will be introducing a brand new redesigned logo on September 4th.

“Over the past year, there’s been a renewed sense of purpose and progress at Yahoo!, and we want everything we do to reflect this spirit of innovation. While the company is rapidly evolving, our logo — the essence of our brand — should too,” reads Savitt’s statement.

She adds, “We also want to preserve the character that is unique to Yahoo! — fun, vibrant, and welcoming — so we’ll be keeping the color purple, our iconic exclamation point and of course the famous yodel. After all, some things never go out of style.”

Savitt announced that keeping with this new change, they will embark on a month-long promotional effort billed as the “30 days of change”, where 30 unofficial variations of the logo will be displayed on the Yahoo! homepage in the next thirty days as a countdown to the unveiling of the new emblem.
