Lenovo has just announced the availability of the Vibe X2 in the Philippines today. The Vibe X2 is billed as the world’s first smartphone sporting a layered design.
The Lenovo Vibe X2 flaunts a unique, colorful design that makes it a true head turner. Upping the ante for smartphone designs, the Vibe X2’s three-tone layered body was carefully draped in three coats of paint–for each tone–to create a svelte and solid finish. Apart from aesthetics, the Vibe X2 is fitted with the latest MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor, clocking in at 2.0GHz, and 2GB of RAM under its hood. This, integrated with MediaTek’s CorePilot technology warrants you a true and powerful eight-core experience. It also ships with 4G LTE and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
Added to its brute specs are two advanced snappers that come equipped with various shooting modes and editing features. Up its front is a 5MP wide-angle front camera. Users can opt to turn its auto-shutter feature on to capture images with just a blink of an eye or by flashing a smile. On its rear is a 13MP auto-focus camera. This rear-facing snapper comes with a back-illuminated sensor and an LED flash. The question is, where do you store all these digital content? Accommodating high-quality pictures and videos taken with the X2’s camera and whatnot is its 32GB of internal storage.

Lenovo Vibe X2 Peripherals
Also introduced during the launch are two click-on accessories for the Vibe X2 (dubbed Vibe Xtensions). These cases are touted as the fourth layer of the X2. How? The cases serve as an extension of the handset with its features that function to extend battery life and amplify the audio experience, respectively. Without added bulk, the X2 Battery protects and powers up the X2 up to at least 75 percent. Meanwhile, the X2 JBL Speaker serves as an ultra-thin snap-on amplifier for the X2. It also transforms into a stand, allowing for hands-free use and a built-in mic for group conference calls.
Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo Vibe X2 will be available in white, gold, red, and dark grey. It is set for release on the market by mid-November with a price tag of PHP 18,999. The price and availability of the Vibe Xtensions are yet to be announced.
