The latest round of scientific and technological disruption and industrial revolution have built up irresistible momentum. AI is of vital importance in promoting technological innovation and increasing national competitiveness. AI has also become the engine for the next wave of transformation brought by the Internet. Internet giants across the world have shifted their focus to AI so as to get a head start in this field. Governments around the world attach great importance to the development of AI technologies and the industry, which have been included in
countries’ national strategies. Well-known enterprises also give priority to AI in their development plan for the future.
However, at this stage, the AI industry in the Asia-Pacific region is still in its infancy, which is in want of greater integration, proper regulation and industry standards. The Asia-Pacific AI Business Alliance can take the lead in formulating rules and standards for various segments, and establishing a consultation mechanism to avoid vicious competition and unregulated growth. It will play a positive role in promoting the healthy development of the industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
Meanwhile, despite the strong theoretical basis, the existing AI technologies are not fully prepared for large-scale commercialization. As a result, although AI enterprises are able to obtain financing with the help of market boom, they fail to improve profitability. In order to accelerate the commercialization of AI technologies and develop more usage scenarios for AI applications, the Asia-Pacific AI Business Alliance will strengthen business communication and information sharing among member companies, provide opportunities for collaboration and cooperation, which will lead to more cross-border exchanges and partnerships within the Asia-Pacific region.
