Samsung joins the bandwagon of water-resistant smartphones as they announce the release of the water-resistant version of their flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S 4. Ahead of its official June 20 launch, the electronics manufacturer released images and information on the newest addition to their Galaxy range of phones, the Galaxy S 4 Active.
This handset can withstand 30 minutes of immersion under three feet of water and still be fully functional, thanks to its modified hardware and outer shell that shields it from dust and other liquids. Another distinction from the Galaxy S 4 is that the S 4 Active’s screen can function even if the user has gloves on.
For that mermaid-like underwater shot, the S4 active has an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It also boasts of a 5-inch Full HD display and a 1.9GHz quad-core processor.
The handset is said to run 4.2.2 Android and support for 3G/4G networks around the world. There are still no reports regarding the pricing of the device, but we’ll surely keep an eye out and keep you updated on the latest information on the Samsung Galaxy S 4 Active.
