Geeks on a Beach (GOAB), a unique technology startup conference, is back for its second year, and this time, they’re setting up camp on the shores of Cebu City.
Co-presented by Smart Bro, Smart DevNet and IdeaSpace Foundation, Inc., GOAB will be a two-day conference slated to happen on August 21 to 22.
GOAB brings together close to 300 international startup founders, technopreneurs, venture capitalists, developers, and industry experts, in order to gain stronger support for the technology community as well as more investments in local startups.
“There were a lot of success stories from last year’s conference, and we hope to replicate those successes this year by linking promising local startups with the right in investors, and vice versa,” said Tina Amper, founder of TechTalks.ph and co-organizer of this year’s GOAB.
One of these startup success stories is real-estate portal ZipMatch.com, co-founded by John Dang and Chow Paredes, who met some of their investors while networking during the first GOAB conference last year. This resulted in a seed funding round led by global investors IMJ Fenox and 500 Startups and included local funds such as Hatchd Digital and IdeaSpace.
GOAB will feature powerhouse guests, and speakers including tech and startup luminaries from Sillicon Valley, and prominent SEA startup stars from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, and other areas.
