Orange has finally upgraded their Orange OPC with improved hardware specs, now featuring Intel’s 2nd gen i7 processors with 8 virtual cores and and 8GB RAM.
If you’re unfamiliar with this awesome piece of gear, Orange has made its mark primarily as a manufacturer of tube amps that have been used by the likes of James Brown and Peter Green. The company has now made much-awaited strides towards digital home-recording, by fusing its classic vintage look into a DAW aimed for musicians.
Not only does it look great, but this bad boy is a complete package. It features built-in 24-bit mic/instrument inputs, a pair of 6.5″ full tonal JBL speakers, and full versions of software (including Amplitube and PreSonus Studio Orange edition) already configured in Windows 7. With the Orange OPC, you can quickly plug-in, play, record, mix and burn a copy of your tracks. You can also easily expand it later on with other hardware components (it has more than 5 USB ports), making it a unique DAW in its own right (and did did we mention that it looks awesome?)
