The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, the world’s first plug-in hybrid electric SUV, was on display at the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit on October 20-21, 2022, at the SMX Convention Center-Manila. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) also featured its Dendo Drive House (DDH) technology at the event.
Since its introduction, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has sold over 260,000 units across Europe, North America, Japan, and Australia. With its all-electric operation for everyday use and mainly motor-powered hybrid operation for longer journeys, the Outlander PHEV aims to promote a greener energy alternative and self-sustainability for better care of our environment.
The Outlander PHEV is the result of Mitsubishi’s long-time development of electrification technology, 4WD expertise, and Super All-Wheel Control or S-AWC technology. This vehicle offers energy efficiency and a smooth driving experience by utilizing a twin-motor 4WD system and a unique PHEV architecture.
Dendo Drive House technology
The Dendo Drive House (DDH) technology is a smart-home system featuring the Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) energy ecosystem. With your Outlander PHEV, a bi-directional charger, solar panels, and an electric storage facility designed for home use, installing this system in your home allows you to charge your EV or PHEV vehicle by using solar-generated power. Not only does this technology help you save on your electricity costs by supplying electricity back to your home, it also lessens your dependency on the grid for operating appliances, and can act as a backup power generator.
Aside from significant benefits related to solar energy like cost savings on fuel and a lowered carbon footprint, DDH can be a reliable source of electricity in case of power outages and other emergencies. Since the Philippines is one of the world’s most disaster-prone countries, both the DDH technology and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV can offer clear advantages in the local setting.
