MobilityCarsThe many faces of the Mitsubishi Montero Sport

Mitsubishi Motors offers a wide array of products and vehicle variants that fits a multitude of personalities. That’s the same story with the new Montero Sport.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) gives the refreshed model a trimmed down variant list. Each of the variants matches personalities well and, here are the many faces of the Montero Sport. Let’s see if you’ll find your match.

    The Purist

Nothing like rowing your own gears and not letting the machine do the things you love. Automatic transmissions may have evolved into better species than manual gearboxes in many aspects, but for the Purist, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport GLX 2WD M/T will always be the top choice.

With a 2.4L DOHC diesel engine beating inside its hood, the GLX 2WD M/T is the only Montero Sport variant equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox. It’s also equipped with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) and Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC)

    The Multitasker

Riddled with duties and always prowling for things to seize the day – the Multitasker is always out there to get the job done. He needs the convenience of driving automatics, such as the Montero Sport GLS 2WD A/T. Armed with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with Sport Mode and auto brake hold, the absence of a third pedal allows more room for multi-tasking.

The GLS 2WD A/T offers more in terms of standard features, such as a better infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, six speakers, and Tomtom offline navigation – perfect for individuals who are always on the go.

    The Top Gun

He knows how to get things done yet he doesn’t skimp on rewarding himself with little luxuries. The Top Gun knows how to enjoy the good things in life, finding the perfect way to repay his hard work, and for him, the GT 2WD A/T fits the bill.

The GT 2WD is a massive step-up from the GLX and GLS variants in terms of features, but not too much so it won’t cross the boundaries of splurging.

Standard GT 2WD features include a set of good-looking two-tone alloy wheels, second-row USB charging ports, more airbags, a better LCD instrument meter display, and a power tailgate with hands-free function. It’s also equipped with dual-cushioning leather seats for a more comfortable and cozier ride.

    The No-Compromise

He wants the best in terms of performance, technology, and safety features. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport GT 4WD A/T is the No-Compromise – for those who want everything or nothing at all.

The GT 4WD A/T comes with an electronic Super Select 4WD-II with off-road mode traction control, assuring you’ll reach your destination no matter where the roads lead to. It’s also the only variant that comes with Adaptive Cruise Control – a very useful feature on the highway, especially on long drives.

Apart from those, the GT 4WD A/T is the safest variant in the range with seven airbags, a 360-degree around-view monitor, Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Blind Sport Warning with Land Change Assist (BSW with LCA), Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS), and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
