Peugeot Philippines has added another nameplate to their growing lineup – the Peugeot 2008. Calling it their urban mini-crossover, the 2008 is Peugeot’s take on the growing B-segment SUV market, and given their rich French heritage and positioning, you know that it’s going to be more than just your usual.
Measuring just (l) 4,159 x (w) 1,739 x (h) 1,556mm, the 2008 is as compact as it gets, but offers a rich experience by combining the driving characteristics of a hatchback and the muscle of an SUV.
Powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, the Peugeot 2008 delivers 122Ps and 160Nm of torque, while providing the best emissions in its class. The power plant is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The 2008 features Peugeot’s latest design cues: fine creases on the hood that highlight the Peugeot emblem; the new floating grill that features the Peugeot branding aside from just the lion emblem; black bumper and body sills that protect the body from scratches; as well as LED daytime running lights.
Inside, the 2008 features Peugeot’s i-Cockpit concept that gives the driver a commanding view of the road. It features a compact steering wheel, heads-up dials for easy readability, a high center console and a 7-inch multifunction color touchscreen with USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Its leather seats and panoramic “Cielo” roof also adds a level of sophistication and spaciousness inside the compact cabin.
The introductory price of the Peugeot 2008 is PHP 1,390,000, and is locally available in the 1.6L AT Allure variant in the following colors: artense grey; bianca white; cumulus grey; dakota brown; near black; and virtual blue.
