Hyundai Asia Resources, Incorporated (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the country, just revealed another ace up their sleeve by launching the all-new 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The Korean brand’s first-ever model to carry the “luxury” tag.
At the unveiling of the Sonata, Ms. Fe Perez-Agudo, President and CEO of HARI said “We are about to unveil the next-generation model of a Hyundai favorite, re-designed and re-engineered down to the details for Premium comfort, safety, and performance, making for nothing less than a brilliant customer experience, in the manner of a world-class brand–a world-class product.,” She added “The all-new Sonata now comes with an 8-year or 160,000 km limited powertrain warranty-another first from Hyundai in the Philippines.”
The all new Sonata looks and feels luxurious, from the aesthetics, down to the materials used to build it. The all-new Sonata is bigger than its previous iteration. It’s 35 longer, 30mm wider, it’s slightly taller and its wheelbase is longer by 10mm. It is the only car classified as a “large car” in terms of interior space compared to its mid-size competitors, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It features the brand’s updated Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 look, and has a lowered hood tip and flat underbody that reduces wind drag.
The all-new Sonata is powered by a Theta II 2.4L MPI DOHC D-CVVT engine that promises a maximum output of 178 PS and delivers 2328.5 NM of torque @4,000 RPM, and is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The seventh-generation Sonata is offered in Premium (Php 1,898,000) and GLS (PHP 1,698,000) trims , and is available in four colors: ice white; phantom black; aquamarine; and polished metal.
